Deep
Dickollective
Given the impress hip-hop has had on culture internationally, the interventions
lyrically and politically of a bunch of queer Negroes is bound to have
ripple effects. The point is that D/DC represents a "coming out"
in hip-hop about what some of us have known for a long time: that any
black cultural Renaissance needs fags. The anti-gangster aesthetic of
quasi-Nationalist "conscious" hip-hoppers and bohemian MC thrift
shoppers pave a space for D/DC to articulate its word play. They represent
a political lyricism that does not take itself too seriously. Overstand?
It's not that deep.
Deadlee

Rapper, poet, performance artist and actor, Deadlee
has amassed a rabid following of gays, transsexuals, drag queens, cholos,
b-boys and b-girls, punks, artists, and freaks of all varieties. Like
his idol, Tupac, Deadlee uses his music to express outrage against the
injustices of society. A self-professed "homothug", Deadlee
is not anyone's poster child. Taking cues from Ice T, Lil Rob, and - oddly
enough - Sid Vicious, Deadlee channels his favorite rappers as well as
rock legends. The result is an apocalyptic mixture of hard rock, West
Coast gangsta style and rap en español that is sure to please his
fans, and confound any critics.
soce the elemental wizard

From the artist: "Hello. My name is
soce, the elemental wizard. It is all lower case on purpose. soce is pronounced
"So-Say." I am a recent college graduate hailing from New Hampshire,
New York City, Connecticut, Louisville and most recently, Seattle. I produce
and perform rap music that is really good!"
And all of that above, is true...soce' is the consumate promoter and show-dude,and
is sooooo gay, as you will see if you catch his show. Not to miss.
Katastophe

Katastrophe (AKA Rocco Kayiatos) is a hot-shit,
somewhat reclusive, over analytical, FTM emo-hop MC who has rocked the
mic, charmed the ladies and educated the masses across the USA. With his
tongue-twisting rhyme style, political frankness and a disarming sense
of humor, he has become a primary player in the growing national queer
hip hop underground.

Johnny
Dangerous

of controversy,' this Minneapolis-born, Chicago-based emcee is taking
names and throwing verbal blows unlike any other. A voice for all genres
of sexuality, Johnny prides himself on being openly honest, boldly truthful
and downright crass!
A two-time Outmusic Award-nominee Johnny released his debut album, "Dangerous
Liaisons" on Tori Fixx' s Us2 Records in September of 2003.
